This research explores how the perception of decent work affects inequality in Tacna, Peru. The longitudinal study uses questionnaires based on the ILO and the 2022 National Survey on Perception of Inequalities from the Institute of Peruvian Studies and Oxfam. With a sample of 319 respondents in 2022 and 339 in 2023, the research reveals that the health crisis intensified economic and social inequalities. The results highlight that factors such as occupation and ethnic self-identification significantly impact the economic vulnerability of certain groups. Furthermore, the study shows a broad perception of inequality between rich and poor sectors, with a high percentage of respondents demanding government policies to reduce this gap, especially in areas such as education, justice and health, key for development.
