This research examines the correlation between Green Transformational Leadership (GTL) and Green Innovation (GI), emphasizing the mediating function of Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) in private hospitals located in Medan, North Sumatra. The study employs a quantitative methodology and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze data from healthcare professionals, assessing the impact of GTL on the adoption of green practices via GHRM mechanisms. The results demonstrate that GTL enhances GI, underscoring the significance of leadership in cultivating a culture of sustainability. GHRM is demonstrated to partially mediate this relationship, indicating that HR practices are essential in aligning employee behavior with the organization's environmental goals. These findings correspond with the resource-based view (RBV) theory, highlighting the significance of leadership and human resources as strategic assets that improve environmental performance and foster innovation. This study enhances the theoretical comprehension of sustainable management practices within the healthcare industry and provides practical implications for hospital administrators aiming to integrate sustainable practices into their operations. It also identifies areas for future research, such as longitudinal studies and cross-industry comparisons, to deepen insights into the dynamic interplay between leadership, HR practices, and green innovation.
