Application of Resource-Saving Technologies in the Production Activities of the Food Industry in Ukraine

Under modern conditions, compliance with the principles of resource-saving technologies in production processes becomes a strategic imperative for Ukraine's food industry due to the energy crisis and environmental challenges that are critically overstating traditional approaches. Application of breakthrough solutions for reducing the cost of energy and materials allows not only to increase production efficiency, but also significantly improves environmental indicators in industrial companies. Among them, energy saving equipment, resource recycling system and waste reuse technology are developing into the main force to promote sustainable development of industries. The utility of this study is used to investigate the possibilities and challenges for realization of resource-saving technologies in operation on food producing enterprises. The article explores the influence of these technologies on the economic activity and competitiveness of companies in relation to the energy crisis. Special attention is paid to practical aspects of integration such solutions, as well as analyzing their effect on the resilience concerning external threats and above all in time of war destruction by energy infrastructure. This article also analyzes the successful implementation of resource-saving solutions in food enterprises on examples from Ukraine and studies key barriers to this process. The most difficult thing for companies is large expenses invested in the modernisation of production capacities and staff adaptation to new working conditions. Especially, SMEs with limited fund and budget to grow or adopt the technology of an innovation that may impact their business sustainability and competitiveness.
