Economic thought in the interwar period was pluralist with theoretical breakthroughs occurring as Economics became a separate science and started being applied to policy more consistently. British and American thought are reviewed and special literature dealing with the economies of Southeastern Europe is discussed. Planning and social inclusiveness were the main trend in economic thought after 1944. Economic thought in Greece, both mainstream and heterodox, is presented as well.
