In the following we introduce time as a variable and study its relation to other quantities like a polymer’s mass or its temperature. We begin by developing theoretical descriptions for viscoelasticity, both phenomenological as well as microscopic. We then move on to a discussion of the glass process. Here our focus is on empirical findings, but we shall also look into one of the theories originally developed in this context.
