The Methodology of Periodization
摘要
This chapter provides an in-depth look at the systematic planning framework of periodization for strength and conditioning (SC) training for human weapon system (HWS) professionals. It outlines the hierarchical structure of training goals, from macrocycles to individual sessions, and emphasizes the need for tailored approaches to address the unique demands of tactical professionals. The various periodization methodologies discussed include linear, block, and flexible models and different loading patterns. The chapter highlights the challenges of applying specific periodization methodologies to HWS populations due to their dynamic and irregular schedules of HWS populations. It underscores the importance of data-driven adaptations to training programs. Using program evaluation, benchmarking, and adjustments, strength and conditioning professionals can design scalable, effective, and personalized programs to meet the evolving operational needs of HWS personnel.
