The authors discuss the unique stressors military, law enforcement, and emergency responders face, including high-stress environments, prolonged separations, ethical dilemmas, and the challenge of maintaining work-life balance. The chapter emphasizes the importance of resilience-building strategies, such as fostering metacognition, strengthening self-concept, implementing stress management techniques, and promoting unit cohesion. Practical approaches like mindfulness, breathwork, physical activity, and access to mental health resources are presented to improve stress tolerance and adaptability.
