Nowadays, workplace safety is a widely discussed and debated topic, especially due to the numerous accidents that occur. In particular, safety planning and coordination at construction sites play a crucial role in ensuring worker protection. Therefore, it is essential that the regulatory tools, and especially their contents, are comprehensible, unequivocal, and clear to those who use them. This work aims to evaluate the digitisation and simplification of the communication and representation process on construction sites regarding safety, with the goal of improving working conditions and consequently reducing the number of accidents and injuries. To achieve this goal, it has become necessary to reduce and, where possible, eliminate the barriers that complicate communication between the main actors in the construction process, especially in the transition from the design phase to the execution phase. The paper will be divided into several sections, starting with an overview of the regulatory context governing safety on construction sites in Italy, and then delving into communication aspects. Additionally, a specific case study was analysed, which made it possible to create a questionnaire to compare different designs. This research aims to provide a concrete contribution and a tool that allows for greater awareness of what happens on construction sites, assessing the validity of the proposed solutions through comparison. Furthermore, this study is openly oriented towards future updates and implementations aimed at optimising the current regulatory tools in the field of safety, with the goal of creating a safer and more sustainable work environment for all construction workers.
