Introduction
摘要
Sustainability perspectives of the building construction process, according to recent theories addressing circular economy (European Commission in The European green deal. Communication from the Commission, 2019 [1]), propose new research and development topics for the construction sector, particularly for Construction Project Management (Akhimien et al. in J Build Eng 38:102041, 2021 [2]). Managing the building construction process in the design, execution and management stages remains of central importance for environmental and economic sustainability. The construction sector needs a new identity and production framework for growth in a context of global instability. The theme of the “Circular Economy”, together with digitalization, leads to a focus on the different Value Chains of the construction process, creating increasingly efficient connections between stakeholders with the goal of increasing the reuse of materials and products by extending their life cycle, minimizing waste and reducing the use of natural resources to decrease environmental impacts, particularly Greenhouse Gas emissions (Sharma et al. in Renew Sustain Energy Rev 15:871–875, 2011 [3]).
