Inverse Problems for a Wave Equation with an Interface

We are interested in the study of stability of inverse problems concerning the recovering of coefficients in a wave equation with discontinuous main coefficient, considered as a transmission system. We give an overview of works where Carleman inequalities with specially adapted weight functions for transmission systems were developed. We apply the Bukhgeim–Klibanov method in order to obtain stability for the studied inverse problems, and we examine the relation of those results with controllability properties.
