The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has facilitated the development and adoption of many technological innovations in healthcare and fostered the generations of new ones. SARS-CoV-2 disrupted many facets of the healthcare industry throughout the pandemic and has likely permanently altered modern healthcare delivery. The trend that was evident during the pandemic and continues to this day has been fueled by the necessity to find intelligent ways to meet the needs and preferences of patients when the traditional care systems could not be deployed. This chapter attempts an overview of how the pandemic influenced health systems and the landscape of technological innovation in healthcare.
