This study aims to fill the research gap on the application of artificial intelligence to modern historical research, specifically in the context of the Ottoman studies. With the use of AI techniques, such as natural language processing and machine learning, the research investigates how these technologies can process historical documents, manuscripts, and even paintings while addressing the existing challenges of complex archival materials and scarcity of sources. A mixed-methods approach is adopted in the study where the efficiency of these methods is assessed using both quantitative and qualitative methods. The findings evidence a significant increase in the accuracy and speed of data processing by AI, with a 30% rise in speed and up to 25% of enhancement of the accuracy of the historical interpretation using the AI-driven processing methods regarding the results of the traditional analyses. These findings support the conclusion that AI methodologies might serve as the transforming power in the historiography field that provides new opportunities for a more accurate and comprehensive type of history. The last section of the study is dedicated to the implications where the author stresses the essential need to incorporate AI in the historical research field and manages the ethics and public engagement.
