Mind/Body Interventions in Brief Existential Psychotherapy
摘要
An existential psychotherapy can be greatly enriched by body interventions. Existence is also corporeal. A life stress event affects both the mind and the body. Chapter 5 on the psychobiology of stress has provided many examples of the relationship between life events, stress muscle-skeletal, autonomic, neuroendocrine and immune-inflammatory systems, with a possible increase in the risk of disease. Body interventions, therefore, effectively integrate existential psychotherapy in defense and emotional response to life stress events. This chapter examines various body interventions with evidence of effectiveness in the literature for maintaining wellness and integrating various mental and somatic pathological conditions: physical exercise, relaxation, guided slow breathing and training for Heart rate variability, nutrition (brain foods); light therapy, regularization of activity/rest and sleep/wake biorhythms; sensory focusing techniques.
