Established in 2016, the Circle of Music Intergenerational Choir (CMIC) for those living with dementia, their partner caregiver, and a teenage volunteer, quickly became an important date in the weekly calendar for musical, social, and intergenerational participation. This chapter explores the foundational principles of the CMIC pedagogical strategies for later-life and volunteer participation, benefits to the participants and wider community, and ways forward. The chapter also discusses some of the challenges and associated creative pedagogical solutions when the CMIC used technology to maintain the collaborative context of the CMIC during isolation due to COVID-19.
