Military Surgery
摘要
This chapter discusses the variety of ways in which a physician can serve in the armed forces throughout their career. We discuss active versus reserve service, the variety of programs through which a physician can join the military in every phase of their medical education and career, the benefits of various military branches, and the risks and benefits of serving. This chapter offers the insights of a young reservist starting her career, countered by the personal stories and wisdom of an experienced attending surgeon and reservist after multiple deployments. This chapter aims to provide insight into the life of a physician in the armed services, from medical student to resident, to attending.
