Pediatric and adolescent gynecology is a subspecialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology that focuses on gynecologic problems in individuals from birth into young adulthood. These include complex hormonal problems, prepubertal vulvovaginal concerns, and congenital genitourinary anomalies. Pediatric gynecologists frequently work in multidisciplinary teams to care for patients with bleeding disorders, those undergoing treatment for or survivors of cancer, gender diverse youth, and patients with anorectal malformations and disorders of sex development. Fellowship training focuses on exposure to this patient population and both common and rare medical and surgical diagnoses, as well as collaborative multidisciplinary evaluation and treatment for complex patients and medical conditions.
