Hierarchy of Evidence in Surgical Research
摘要
The hierarchy of evidence is a rating system commonly used to evaluate the strength of evidence presented in medical research. The levels of evidence are a vital component of evidence-based surgical practice and are a valuable tool by which surgeons are able to understand and rank the surgical literature by study design. This chapter reviews the levels of evidence and their associated study designs for therapeutic research, prognostic research, diagnostic test evaluation, and economic research.
