A Study on the Psychological Characteristics and Consumer Tendency of South Korean Young Adults in Their Twenties

The purpose of this study is to clearly understand the psychological characteristics and issues of young adults in their 20s and to gain insights into their psychological traits and consumer tendency. This analysis was conducted through a review of existing studies and literature. Interpreted through a cultural lens, the psychological characteristics of young adults in their 20s are as follows: anxiety is associated with a pursuit of stability, depression leads to a preference for simplicity and pleasure, and curiosity drives the pursuit of diversity and creativity. Additionally, their consumer Tendency is characterized by efforts to alleviate anxiety through hedonic purchases, a desire to gain recognition from others, and a tendency to seek narcissistic satisfaction through image-focused consumption.
