摘要

Many of the rotational formulae derived in the previous chapters, have been used in optical microscopy since the beginning of the nineteen-eighties for estimation of intrinsic volumes in 3D. Examples are given in Chaps. 4 and 6 . Optical microscopy allows virtual sections to be generated through reference points in a tissue block. A typical example is optical sectioning through the nucleus of a biological cell.
