Climate change has been affecting all spheres of life especially those which depend directly on climate like that of agriculture. In agriculture, the extent of climate change is wide which reaches all the way from vegetables, fruits, and field crops to livestock, and significant losses of produce have been observed. This is especially true for spring and summer crops which cannot withstand high temperatures, erratic rainfall, flooding, and high winds. Mango is one of the most affected crops due to changing climatic conditions. Mango flowering season receiving abrupt rainfall, temperature rise during flowering, fruit quantity and quality loss due to heatwaves, water shortages-led fruit loss, and pollen sterility are a few issues to count. As the changing climate affects the morphology and physiology of the mango tree by altering its growth pattern, the susceptibility to disease and pest attack rises, compromising the quality and quantity of fruit. Therefore, there is an immediate need to ameliorate the effects of climate change on mango through sustainable approaches. Planting trap crops near the mango orchards to attract aphids and mealybugs, using shelterbelts and windbreaks to address the heatwaves, better management of shade, improved irrigation management utilizing drip and sprinkler systems, drought and heat tolerant rootstocks, integrated pest management, biological control, intercropping, and cover cropping are a few techniques to consider for amelioration of effects of climate change in mango. Addressing the impacts of climate change on mango production is crucial for sustaining agricultural economy and livelihoods.
