This chapter explores the all-encompassing water management strategies for sustainable mango farming in the face of climate change, with an emphasis on Pakistan's practices. Climate change has greatly affected the mango production through increased temperatures, variability in rainfall patterns, and moreover frequent occurrences of the extreme weather events thereby bringing about a need of the adaptive approaches to efficient water management. The chapter analyzes the conventional irrigation methods and their deficiencies, while also examining the potential of the novel methods of irrigation application, together with rainwater harvesting and recharge of groundwater techniques. One of the key aspects that have been studied in the second part of the chapter is whether or not the soil enhancement strategies such as mulching and cover cropping can improve water availability and efficiency. The incorporation of modern technologies such as remote sensing, GIS, mechanistic modeling and IoT-based smart irrigation systems in water use optimization is presented here. The chapter further considers the economic aspects that hinder the adoption of sustainable practices and the importance of policy support and communal initiatives in water management as well. Analysis of the present-day mango cultivation techniques and application of the emerging technologies e.g. remote sensing and process-based modeling (V-Mango) can help us to develop a framework for climate-resilient water management strategies thereby underlining the importance of continuous innovation and the institutional support for ensuring sustainable production in water-scarce regions.
