A Cutting-Edge Exploration: A Literature Review on Optimizing Museum Experiences Through Digital Transformation and VR Tour Software with 3DVista
摘要
Amid the Web 2.0 era, the advent of versatile digital transformation tools, including Internet of Things, mobile apps, Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), social media (SM), AI, and Big Data, has revolutionized experiences, offering high-quality, real-time, and interactive engagements that enhance citizens’ quality of life. In the realm of the digital museum, Next Generation Technologies (NGT), encompassing mixed reality (VR and AR) and AI, are rapidly becoming essential instruments for edutainment, attainment, and gamification, transforming museums into dynamic, immersive, and multisensory hubs of knowledge. However, the precise application and implications of VR, Mixed Reality, and 3DVista in museums remain ambiguous. This paper aims to address these gaps by analyzing recent literature on NGT and digital transformation tools, focusing on AI, VR, and AR technologies adopted by museums. Drawing on a review of 62 papers, this study categorizes and elucidates moderator factors, best practices, and both benefits and challenges of NGT implementation in museums. This study contributes significantly to the fields of tourism and cultural marketing by providing deeper insights into harnessing NGT technologies within museums and suggesting new research and managerial directions.
