With its independent robotic arms, the system offers flexibility in placement of the arms around the operative table. Furthermore, the system offers both 5 mm and 3 mm fully reusable instruments, a first for robotic surgery. The Senhance System is built around the concept of digital surgery that aims to digitize the interface between patient and surgeon and utilizes augmented intelligence to provide clinical insights to the surgeon during surgery. This is accomplished by the Intelligent Surgical Unit (ISU), which is the first FDA-approved machine vision system for robotic surgery.
