There has been increasing interest in minimally invasive inguinal hernia repair given its advantages over open approaches. It is the recommended approach for cases such as bilateral inguinal hernias and groin hernias in women. With the advantages of robotic surgery such as increased dexterity, visualization, and ergonomics, many have adopted this technology. This chapter gives an overview of robotic inguinal hernia repair with an emphasis on the transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) approach. Special circumstances such as inguinoscrotal hernias and common complications will also be discussed.
