Although usually done laparoscopically, in recent years, robot-assisted sleeve gastrectomy has been increasingly utilized. The robotic platform offers several theoretical advantages, including precision in tissue manipulation greater dexterity due to the elimination of tremor and enhanced 3-D imaging. The purpose of this chapter is to provide a description of robotic sleeve gastrectomy, discuss the potential benefits, and compare the outcomes.
