The increasing resource scarcity and stricter sustainability regulations are compelling manufacturing companies to adopt circular value creation models. The circular economy aims to decouple resource consumption from high-quality product supply by using R-strategies like remanufacturing and refurbishment. Implementing these strategies requires manufacturing companies to adapt their operational procedures, which can be conceptualized as a distinct restructuring process. This paper examines the transition from linear to circular production in manufacturing companies. It presents results from a systematic literature review that consolidates research on the transition to circular production and categorizes it within the framework of restructuring in the context of business transformation. The identified literature is evaluated based on scope and focus on the transition phase, providing an overview of the current research on restructuring processes for circular production. The paper concludes by highlighting the need for further re-search to develop an integrated approach to restructuring for circular production.

摘要
