Several methods currently exist for deburring cross holes, with combination tools that handle both drilling and deburring proving to be particularly effective. However, none of combination tools offer the ability to perform targeted deburring with an adjustable chamfer width. To address this limitation, this work proposes a novel tool and process. The tool is designed with a deburring edge created by reducing the drill shank diameter, enabling it to be guided accurately along the intersection curve. This method replicates the control of manual deburring, ensuring that the desired chamfer width is consistently achieved.

摘要

Several methods currently exist for deburring cross holes, with combination tools that handle both drilling and deburring proving to be particularly effective. However, none of combination tools offer the ability to perform targeted deburring with an adjustable chamfer width. To address this limitation, this work proposes a novel tool and process. The tool is designed with a deburring edge created by reducing the drill shank diameter, enabling it to be guided accurately along the intersection curve. This method replicates the control of manual deburring, ensuring that the desired chamfer width is consistently achieved.
