Artificial intelligence (AI) is spreading throughout medicine and radiology. It has great potential to impact how radiologists care for patients and provides us the opportunity to innovate and improve not only the patient experience but also the clinician experience. Nevertheless, it is a new, evolving technology, and it is our responsibility to ensure that it is applied in a way that is safe and effective for our patients. This chapter explores current and emerging use cases of AI in radiology, from pixel-based detection tools to the transformative potential of large language models and multimodal AI. It addresses implementation strategies, ethical considerations, and the evolving role of radiologists in a technology-driven future.
