Where to Look for a Job
摘要
There are three basic steps to finding a job: determine your preferred practice type, where you want to live, and where to look. Practice types include private and academic; private practices may consist of partnership tracks or be purely employed. There are many factors to consider when deciding where you want to live, with geography or family only being a few considerations. Jobs are sought via” job wanted” ads on websites or journals, through a headhunter, or via word of mouth. Word of mouth is very effective when seeking solid job opportunities and recruiters. Having and getting good word of mouth requires networking which can be done in person or remotely. Temporary, or temporary-to-permanent, jobs are options found through locum tenens companies. A spreadsheet helps keep you organized as you accrue information during the job search.
