Integrated Interventional Radiology Residency
摘要
This chapter discusses the integrated IR residency, a residency for medical students who would like to start their IR training earlier than the other IR training tracks can provide. The dialogue on how to decide if IR is right for you begins the chapter; the rest of the chapter describes the application, interviewing, matching, and board certification tasks with the assumption that the reader has minimal knowledge of the processes. Many references are made to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), and American Board of Radiology (ABR) websites because these, and the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), are the main organizations you will be working with and will be a source of further information. I have also included “pearls” from my own postgraduate endeavors. I encourage you to also read Chap. 19 because there is additional helpful information there.
