Breast Imaging Fellowship
摘要
Breast imaging is a growing field that includes image interpretation, procedures, patient communication, multidisciplinary collaboration, advocacy, and research. It can be a good option for trainees with these skill sets who prefer outpatient practice. Presently, the SBI recommends a minimum of 9 months of breast imaging training for fellowship but accepts programs offering between 6 and 12 months of training. It encourages these programs to participate in the NRMP Match. Although some training programs are not in the Match, The SBI and NRMP websites guide the Match application process. Applicants for programs both in and out of the Match should start preparing their application materials by the start of the academic year they are applying. They should become familiar with the SBI fellowship curriculum and look for programs that will enable them to become competent practicing breast imagers.
