From Die Hard 5 to Poor Things: Budapest at the Forefront of European Film Production
摘要
In the last twenty years, Hungarian film production has made great progress, and it says a lot about the quality of the work in the Budapest studios that the work of a member of the Hungarian crew was recognized with an Oscar for the second time in 2 years. The investigation aims to show the importance of Budapest in the European film industry, highlighting the services that can serve the international productions coming to Hungary as much as possible. In addition to the secondary research (laws, economic indicators, competitiveness data), the investigation is also based on primary methodology, during which in-depth interviews were conducted with professionals actively participating in the film industry infrastructure. As a result, not only changes in the economic environment of the Hungarian film industry are revealed, but also the ever-expanding elements of the professional film offering.
