Synthesis and Properties of Non-phosphorus and Non-nitrogen Water Treatment Agent

An environmentally friendly water treatment agent polymer without phosphorus and nitrogen was synthesized by aqueous phase synthesis method using raw materials itaconic acid (IA) and hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA). The scale inhibition and dispersion properties as well as the corrosion inhibition properties of the polymeric water treatment agent were investigated using the static scale inhibition experimental method and the rotary hanging method. The results show that the polymer has excellent scale inhibition properties for calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate and calcium phosphate. Moreover, the dispersion performance was good and the corrosion rate of carbon steel meets the national standard. The polymer has good application prospects in the field of water treatment.
