In this work, the hydrochemistry of thermal waters in North Algeria was investigated. The study area is characterized by a cold climate with intense rain and medium evaporation rates. The thermal waters in the study area are exploited for SPA traditional baths and heating green houses. The deep geothermal reservoir is covered by sandstones and calcareous formations, which yield the chemical characteristics of highly mineralized chloride thermal waters and sulfate type determined the presence of evaporate geological layers. Chemical parameters for main thermals springs disclose a near neutral pH and a certain degree of salinity with sodium-chloride type waters domination. Multidisciplinary approaches were adopted, including geological field works, thermal spring’s chemistry, and touristic impact for local economic development. A global map was realized of geothermal potential for possible use of this renewable energy.
