Consumer Behavior in Sustainable Luxury Textiles
摘要
In today’s luxury fashion industry, eco-conscious consumers increasingly demand sustainable fashion solutions. They seek high-quality products made from natural, organic fibers, recycled materials, and biodegradable fabrics such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, and biodegradable textiles. This chapter explores how luxury brands are responding to these ethical demands and the willingness of consumers to pay more for environmentally friendly products. A key trend in this shift is circularity, which focuses on creating durable, repairable, and recyclable products. Brands like Stella McCartney and Gucci are at the forefront using eco-friendly materials and encouraging product reuse and recycling. It explored how these practices align with the values of environmentally conscious consumers who also expect timeless luxury. Consumers are becoming more aware of the ethical and sustainability practices of brands, demanding transparency in sourcing and production processes. They are informed about the environmental and societal impacts of their purchases and expect brands to adhere to corporate responsibility. This chapter also highlights how brands meet these expectations through certifications for sustainable garments and the use of blockchain technology to provide accurate, traceable information about the production chain. Also, it emphasizes the importance of clear and transparent communication regarding sustainability initiatives. Such transparency builds trust and loyalty among green consumers, who expect brands not only to meet but to exceed their ethical production standards, positioning themselves as leaders in the sustainable fashion industry.
