Sustainable Practices in Clothing Supply Chain
摘要
The clothing supply chain is undergoing a massive transformation due to the urgent call for sustainability. This chapter takes an approach to sustainable practice within the clothing supply chain. The chapter focuses on adopting sustainable practices at every stage of the product’s life cycle, ranging from eco-friendly sourcing and ethical production to efficient distribution and responsible disposal, which will foster environmental protection and social accountability. Sustainability in the fashion industry is essential because its environmental footprint is enormous; it pollutes and depletes resources. Consumer trends over the past years have revealed that more consumers prefer sustainable brands, particularly among the youth. The most prominent aspects include sustainable materials, efficient production processes, and circular economy. The brand can minimize the adverse environmental effects of consumption while trying to satisfy consumer demand for ethical practices through eco-friendly materials and innovative production techniques. A culture of mindful consumption emerges as we shift from a linear model to a circular one. This transition highlights the growing awareness of sustainability’s importance, ultimately making the fashion industry more responsible and resilient.
