Enhancing Solidarity through a Comparative Analysis of NDVI and SAVI Vegetation Analysis: A Geospatial Approach for Sustainable Land Use and Environmental Management

The comparative analysis of the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Soil-Adjusted Vegetation Index (SAVI) with the aid of geospatial technology has emerged as a powerful approach to increase ecological, social, economic, and agricultural solidarity while facilitating the development of environmental solidarity to improve the sustainability of land use practice. This study explores the application of geospatial technologies in analyzing NDVI and SAVI data of LANDSAT series for the years 1975, 1979–80, 1989–90, 2000, 2010, and 2019–20 of pre- and post-monsoon to promote solidarity in vegetation change analysis for land use sustainability in Central Haryana. NDVI and SAVI models are applied to get the results with the help of ERDAS and ARC GIS software. The study area is classified as No Vegetation (−1–0), Built-up/Fallow/Scrubs (0–0.3), Thin Vegetation (0.3–0.6), and Dense Vegetation (>−0.6). For SAVI, 0.5 adjusted factor’s value is used for calculation. About 100 samples of NDVI and SAVI indices were extracted to compare the already prepared map. The results provide valuable insights into vegetation health, land cover changes, and agricultural productivity in the study area. This integrated approach represents a pivotal step towards fostering solidarity among individuals, communities, and nations to safeguard the environment and achieve a balanced and sustainable coexistence with nature.
