The Siliguri Corridor, which links India with the Northeastern States, is a strategic region in the Himalayan foothills. It is often referred to as Northeast India’s (NE) entrance. It establishes a land connection between India and its three neighbors, Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh. The corridor significantly contributes to India’s progress. On the one hand, it can create opportunities due to its strategic, geoeconomics, and geopolitical significance in the region. On the other hand, it can create challenges due to geographical proximity to neighboring countries. That is why the main focus of the present study is on the strategic location of the corridor and its issues. Meanwhile, the study reviews the important strategic factors in the Siliguri corridor and argues that the corridor has a critical strategic interest in the region and must build a comprehensive, long-term strategy to protect and advance these interests.

摘要
