Introduction
摘要
Chipless RFID presents an exciting, cost-effective alternative to traditional RFID systems, offering a promising solution for applications where a low cost and versatility are essential. By replacing the traditional chip with a fully electromagnetic scatterer, chipless RFID tags can be produced using conventional printing techniques on various substrates, ranging from flexible materials to paper. While still in its early stages in industry, research on chipless RFID has already demonstrated significant potential across diverse fields, including logistics, agriculture, healthcare, and anti-counterfeiting. In this introductory section of the handbook, we first invite readers to embark on a detailed overview of the book, followed by a discussion on the current niche and future directions of this emerging technology, explored in-depth by the handbook’s co-authors.
