Seismic Performance Evaluation of Dhobi Khola Concrete Network Arch Bridge
摘要
In this paper, structural evaluation and seismic performance assessment of the Dhobi Khola Twin Network Arch Bridge has been carried out. This study uses finite element modeling and non-linear time history analysis to evaluate the seismic performance of the bridge. The study compares the performance of a bridge with and without seismic isolators, using five different earthquakes. The isolated bridge with Lead Rubber Bearings provides good seismic isolation under earthquake force, according to analysis, with an average reduction in base shear of 27.5%. The study also found that the bending moment and axial force are reduced by an aver- age of 20.60% and 37.13%, respectively, when the bridge is equipped with seismic isolators. The study concludes that seismic isolation is an effective way to improve the seismic perfor- mance of network arch bridges in seismic-prone regions.
