Anjunadu valley is presently Tamil dominated, vegetable filled, floral diverse, and isolated land on the hillock of Idukki district. The region is characterized by economic backwardness, inadequate infrastructure, limited communication facilities, inadequate transportation, lack of regular banking services, unsatisfactory services from various governmental and non-governmental agencies. The present study examines the socio-economic status of marginalized cool season vegetable cultivators in Anjunadu valley of Idukki district in the context of inclusive growth and sustainable development. This study is empirical in nature and it has used both secondary as well as primary data. The secondary data have been collected from official reports, agricultural institutes, governmental agencies and from books. The sample size is statistically determined and the proportion of samples to be selected from the select panchayats. The required number of samples (630) from the selected places under each panchayat are finally picked. The collected data were analysed by simple percentage, chi-square test and one sample t-test.
