Technological advancement in the industry has accelerated as customers’ inclination towards home delivery services has replaced eating out. Right now, food delivery services are dominating the internet industry. The overall revenue of the online meal ordering marketplace is predicted to increase by 8.8% until 2024, based on statistics. Many sit-down restaurants become Ghost Kitchens or delivery-only businesses as a result of COVID-19. According to a Business Wire analysis, it is anticipated that the global trend of online meal delivery services would continue, with this market growing at an annual pace of 11% to reach $192 billion by 2025. There has been a steady rise in unemployment in India. Many engineers and graduates are either unemployed or underemployed. This has led to an increase in the no. of engineers and graduates opting for the job of delivery executives as it has good income and incentives. Youth are the building blocks of the nation understanding the challenges and stress levels faced at their workplace is of primary concern. The current study will play a pivotal role in understanding various challenges faced by the online food delivery executives and provide valuable suggestions to overcome the day to day challenges faced, and in improving the work culture by taking necessary measures to reduce the stress levels. Some of the major issues that meal delivery companies are currently facing are covered in this article. Based on the identification of noteworthy obstacles such disobedient clients, delays in logistics, and problems with payments, our results emphasise the urgent requirement for focused interventions to assist these employees.
