A Systematic Review of the Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Digital Art
摘要
The systematic review aimed to analyse Artificial Intelligence (AI)'s impact on the different areas of its use in digital art. Four databases from reliable sources were used for the analysis: IEEE, Springer, Scopus and ScienceDirect. The PRISMA methodology was used to regulate the article collection process and a total of 50 articles associated with the research topic were counted the results were then sectioned into 3 key questions that helped to compare the observations of the related works. The results expose the different advantages of using AI in art, such as fostering creativity and novelty, creating new art forms, as well as the use of techniques used by AI for image generation such as deep learning algorithms or convolutional neural networks. On the other hand, the various limitations of AI in the generation of images were identified, such as errors in distributional displacements or generation of faces with noticeable distortions. Finally, it was concluded that AI is a very helpful tool that enhances traditional art, but, given that it still has limitations, it is not entirely perfect.
