The Role of Digital Technologies in the Economic, Social and Environment Sustainable Development

This paper explains on the relationship between two subject topics; digital technologies and sustainable development considering growing interest of organizations in how digital technologies contribute to sustainable development. In this new era of technological transformation, digital technologies are the new way of steering businesses, which significantly improved organizations operational effectiveness. Since the way businesses get done has an economic, social, and environmental footprint, digital technologies affect the sustainability aspects of doing businesses, which is crucial for the organizations since consumers, and stakeholders have visibility to businesses impacts on the organization’s revenues and valuation. This paper illustrates a study of “Digital Sustainability” over a thorough analysis of various journals with the goals of; (1) bringing together the existing research findings, (2) manifesting how the various studies are related to each other, and (3) identifying breaks in the conducted research to advance the improvement of this research. There are important implications, theoretical and practical, i.e., the call for support in comprehending the vital role of utilizing digital technologies in multiple sustainable development objectives is being addressed herein, consultants, and policymakers are just a few of the practitioners who shall be impacted by this research paper. This paper reveals and concludes that digital technologies can be well thought-out as a predecessor to sustainable development, and both should be a key component of any organizational strategy. Markets are changing, new business paradigms are emerging, and organizations now have the tools necessary to address sustainability-related issues.
