摘要

Wax, asphaltene, and paraffin degradation in the oil and gas sectors offers a wide range of challenges that can be addressed using advanced environmental nanotechnology. It often leads to pipeline obstructions, operational inefficiencies, and higher maintenance expenses. Traditional methods for their removal and remediation are often costly, environmentally damaging, and inefficient. This review represents an overview of nanotechnology based solutions for the degradation of waxes, asphaltenes, and paraffins. Nanomaterial provides unique properties such as high surface area-to-volume ratios, increased reactivity, optical activity, thermo physical and mechanical properties. Due to certain characteristics of nanomaterial hydrocarbon deposits can be effectively removed from oil and gas industries by means of efficient adsorption, dispersion, and catalytic degradation.
