Roaming Talents: Soft Skills and Learning Strategies of Digital Nomads
摘要
Digital nomadism is a working arrangement made possible by technological breakthroughs. This trend comprises knowledge workers who blend remote work with mobility, resulting in a unique lifestyle where an entrepreneurial mindset runs personal and professional activities. To better manage their careers, digital nomads must continually develop soft skills. This paper discloses what soft skills related to innovation and entrepreneurship are relevant to digital nomads and which methods they use to build said skills. Through a qualitative approach, the results show support from the literature, identifying skills like organization, financial skills, self-discipline, adaptability, risk-taking, creativity, productivity, and social skills, alongside new skills from the data analysis: communication, resilience, ethical behaviour, empathy, self-motivation/self-care, and openness. Moreover, digital nomads prefer socialized learning methods. This study can be of special interest to the research on digital nomadism, soft skills, and learning approaches in the “post-pandemic” context.
