Blockchain Based Auditing for Cloud Security: A Systematic Review

The exponential growth cloud computing has led to a notable rise in the availability of cloud storage services. However, because cloud storage servers cannot guarantee data integrity, users are increasingly concerned about the dependability of remote storage services. In public auditing systems, a third-party auditor (TPA) is hired to confirm the accuracy of data that is stored externally. While the TPA offers advantages like impartiality and effectiveness, it does not fully mitigate the risk of deceitful auditors. Functioning as a central authority, TPA is required to engage with every cloud user and service provider., thereby becoming a potential bottleneck in the system. Blockchain technology introduces an alternative and innovative approach to enhance security systems against contemporary weaknesses. This research provides a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) focusing on Blockchain-based Auditing Techniques in Cloud Security. Our investigation delves into multiple blockchain-based auditing solutions designed for cloud computing and analyzes their underlying mechanisms. Various databases were utilized to identify the latest research articles from (2017) to (2024). As a result, conducting a thorough analysis of these chosen papers offers valuable perspectives on their methodologies, benefits, and constraints.
