Forgetting when you have been wronged is difficult. However, forgiveness is necessary in order to move forward. The construct of the Hollow Theory is that the long-standing uncivil conduct of one or several people against one or several others is detrimental to all. Behaviorally, as tears emerge, stomach and headaches occur and anxiety increases; untreated, a clinical depression can arise.
