Circular supply systems, as opposed to conventional linear supply chains, are designed to enhance resource usage and minimize waste. This is achieved by incorporating ideas such as recycling, remanufacturing, and refurbishment into the existing procedures. Sustainable processes related to the supply chain require a broader set of competencies that can be enhanced among employees to achieve better employee productivity. The present study attempts to identify the necessary skills required for employees to operate effectively without creating waste with the help of recycling. In the present work, a semi-structured interview of experts from diversified industries like IT, cement, and automobiles has been taken to explore the required skills. To operationalize the logical and systematic analysis of the recorded transcripts, QSR NVivo v.10 software was used to find the concrete findings of the study. After conducting the theme analysis, the present study proposed a list of skills that facilitate the execution of waste-free mechanisms. The identified skills are “sustainability” Literacy, systems thinking, innovative problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, ethical and social responsibility, technical and analytical skills, and Regulatory Compliance Knowledge. Outcomes of the research help the companies to identify the skills required for CSCM execution and they can effectively target their training programs. Educational institutions and professional training providers can incorporate these skills into their curricula, ensuring that current and future supply chain professionals are equipped to meet the demands of a circular economy.
