Sustainability attainment process is considered equal to transitioning to Circular Supply Chains (CSCs) as it minimizes wastes, optimizes resource usage and reduces environmental impact. However, humanising CSCs has to be based on a sustainable approach, including social, environmental and economic dimensions. Incidentally, the present study recognizes some challenges which are potentially associated with humanising CSCs. Further, the identified challenges are prioritised and analysed adopting Fuzzy VIKOR method. The most important findings from the study reflect that the major challenges are changing relationships and resistance to change. The organizational culture and mindset is crucial in the successful adoption of circular practices. Moreover, metrics and frameworks lack in measuring progress and guaranteeing constant implementation of circular initiatives. Moreover, the process of transition is further complicated by technology limitations and costs, hence requiring investment in innovative solutions and alternative financing models. Equally important in the creation of effective CSCs is engaging new partners and developing open loops, cross-sector collaboration and adapting to the change in relationship. Such challenges put forward that the common goals of sustainability attained would, at the same time, mean giving due prominence to collaboration and relationship-building amongst the stakeholders. In effectively humanising CSCs, organizations should consider a multi-pronged approach that includes strategic planning, engaging stakeholders and technology innovation. Addressing the challenges identified in humanising CSCs and putting the best practices into consideration could help improve efforts on sustainability among organisations and increase the prospects of a more circular economy.

摘要
